Mike is a licensed architect with fifteen years of professional experience, who has devoted his career to innovation in green building, Passivhaus, community housing strategies, and Mass Timber. His experience working in Germany and the Pacific Northwest has allowed him to understand and synthesize the best of both of these architectural and construction practices.

A knowledgeable Project Manager, Mike excels at working in teams, and leading them to project designs that meet and exceed client’s goals. His recently completed projects in the U.S. include Western Yacht Harbor, the first building on the West Coast to utilize Brettstapel/Dowel Laminated Timber, as well as the Goldendale Observatory State Park Addition and Remodel.

Additionally, Mike is a well-published writer, covering a variety of topics including Passivhaus, land use, housing, Baugruppen, and Massivholz/ Mass Timber. He is an activist for dense, livable, affordable, and sustainable communities.
