The 88th annual Academy Awards took place last night right in Los Angeles, and host Chris Rock wasted no time addressing the lack of black nominees, devoting his opening monologue and several star-studded montages to comedically address the controversy. Mad Max: Fury Road was quite the buzzed-about picture, as the film took home 6 awards. Best Picture had a few favorites slated to win, but in the end, Spotlight took home the award. In the Best Actress category, Brie Larson took home the award for her work in Room. And in arguably the most memorable moment of the night, no surprise, Leonardo DiCaprio, who has been nominated 6 times, finally took home his first Oscar for his role in The Revenant.
