Scott Devon is the founder and owner of avant garde luxury watchmaker Devon Works. Since the debut of its first product, the belt-display 2010 Devon Tread 1, Devon Works has built standout American-made luxury watches in Southern California. Components from medical device suppliers, aerospace manufacturers, and technology companies helped Scott to realize a watch that Swiss suppliers called impossible to build.

The time-belt Tread 1 became the first watch ever to receive a GPHG nomination -- that is recognition at the "Oscars" of watchmaking. Subsequent variants of the Tread 1 include the outrageous Tread 1 Steampunk, Tread 1 Star Wars, and the Tread 1F worn by Robert Downey Jr. in "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame."

Devon released the Tread 2 in 2012 and diversified its offerings with the brand's first chronograph watch. The Tread 2 and its tonneau case became a more mainstream option that attracted new customers to the California brand. Tread 2 display systems continued to use Devon's belt-display time readout, but the smaller watch helped Scott Devon and his team reach a broader market.

Scott Devon considers Devon Works innovation to be an ongoing process. Smart watches, sports watches, and collaborations with tech majors like Google, Apple, and Tesla remain goals as Devon looks to shift beyond its initial two product families. Even the Tread 1 is set to evolve as Scott brings a new version with a full bracelet to market.
