Cole is the founder of Lyrical Lemonade, a multimedia company he started in 2013. Originally from Plano, Illinois, Cole got his start directing music videos for up-and-coming rappers out of Chicago, and running the Lyrical Lemonade hip-hop blog. After directing music videos for artists like Famous Dex, Lil Pump, & Ski Mask the Slump God, Cole’s YouTube channel & reputation as a visionary director grew exponentially. Since then, Cole’s continued to shoot next-level music videos for artists like Teezo Touchdown, BLP Kosher, & Tana, as well as more established names like Kid Cudi, Eminem, & Blink-182. Beyond his success as a director, Cole's brand now incorporates his “Summer Smash” music festivals, merchandise, a record label, & actual canned lemonade. During their conversation, Cole speaks on his Lyrical Lemonade album, shooting a music video for Drake & Lil Yachty, directing all the videos for Drake’s “For All My Dogs”, & Tyler, the Creator’s perfect creative direction. They discuss Warhol’s “Speed Racer”, Aminé, not making money off YouTube, building his personal brand, & times Cole felt like quitting. Cole introduces some of his friends on the LL album, talks about connecting Lil Durk & Kid Cudi for “Guitar in My Room”, & how he’s inspired by A$AP Rocky.
