RIP: Roku Private Channels (aka Non-Certified Channels) To Disappear Feb. 23, 2022

Last year, Roku announced it was making some changes to its developer tools, including the removal of Non-Certified Channels, formerly known as Private Channels.

And while Non-Certified Channels offered developers ways to test their apps before a public launch, some took advantage of the program to offer unofficial apps that users could sideload.

And with Non-Certified Channels set to be removed on February 23, 2022, we wanted to take a look at what's changing and how it could affect developers and users who are fans of those unofficial apps, which many still refer to as Roku Private Channels.
