Ten Minute Art History: Master Painters of the Renaissance (Boticelli, da Vinci, and Michelangelo) |
![]() |
In this longer version of our series (not the usual ten minutes, I'm affraid) we cover the lives and masterpieces of three of the great artists of history: Sandro Boticelli, Leonardo da Vinchi, and Michelangelo Buonarroti.
We look at why some of the most famous pieces of artwork are such masterpieces and what makes a genius work? How did these three great artists live their lives under the influence of Humanism and by the hand of the Patronage system of the Florentine Renaissance and how did they achieve masterpieces like The Birth of Venus, The Mona Lisa or the Pietá under such pressure and circumstances.
