And in doing so, the new “Gossip Girl” is honoring the O.G. series and its Queen B by setting the return for Thursday, Nov. 25, a.k.a. Thanksgiving. While you wait for the second half of Season 1 to premiere, you can watch HBO Max’s trailer for the new episodes, which was released Wednesday along with the Turkey Day news.

In the video, you’ll see that the mess that was made at the end of Part 1 is only growing when we return to find Julien (Jordan Alexander) trying to distance herself from ex Obie (Eli Brown), after kissing her former boyfriend, who is now her half-sister Zoya’s (Whitney Peak) current boyfriend. But Obie isn’t looking to just cut things off after what happened between them and it appears Zoya is going to find out exactly what that was soon, as the “Gossip Girl” trailer shows Zoya telling Julien:”We’re not sisters. We’re not friends. We’re nothing. There is no coming back from this.” Meanwhile, Audrey (Emily Alyn Lind), Aki (Evan Mock) and Max (Thomas Doherty) are thriving in their new thruple. Maybe. Actually, that looks nice but also like it’s five seconds away from imploding, too. And, of course, the trailer showcases that holiday meal near and dear to Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) and “Gossip Girl” fans’ hearts: Thanksgiving. HBO Max is switching up the rollout strategy for the second half of Gossip Girl (2021) Season 1, which means we will be getting the episodes sooner. The series was initially set to return with the seventh episode of the season on Thursday, November 25, but the streamer will now have episodes 7, 8, and 9 available to stream.
