The Kia Sorento, one of our large SUV finalists, was actually the drive car of the year 2021 outright winner. And it is back this year to defend its title with an all new plug in hybrid drive train. But it is up against two brand new competitors.

That's right, Woody. And this one here, the Toyota Kluger, well, it's now available with a hybrid. We know that's what Australian buyers want. You only have to look at the sales figures and then of course, the Hyundai Palisade, which in this company almost looks like it's half a segment bigger.

This is a tough one for the judges, but it's a tough one for the Kia Sorento as well, because we think that retaining an award is almost harder than winning it in the first place. So this is the heartland for Australian buyers.

Medium and large SUVs. These are default family vehicles. Judges have got to get it right. Well, that's right. So in this segment, we'll be looking at overall spice and practicality of these cars. We'll be assessing what they like not only to buy, but the cost to run them.

The hip pocket measurement is very important for Australian buyers will be looking at value technology and of course, which one provides the best on road touring comfort.
