हर देश अपने सैन्य शक्ति को मजबूत रखना चाहता है। भारत भी लगातार अपनी सामरिक शक्ति बढ़ाने में लगा है। वर्तमान में China के बाद भारत के पास ही सबसे बड़ी सेना है। Stockholm International Peace Research Institute के मुताबिक भारत ने साल 2021 में सेना पर 76.6 अरब डॉलर खर्च किए। यह दुनिया में तीसरा सबसे बड़ा सैन्य खर्च का आंकड़ा है। एक साल पहले के मुकाबले भारत में 0.9 फीसदी ज्यादा खर्च किया। वहीं 2012 के मुकाबले यह 33 फीसदी ज्यादा है।
