Argentina celebrates World Cup victory - BBC News

An estimated two million people gathered in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires to celebrate the country's World Cup win over France.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi will end his World Cup career as a tournament champion, following what some are calling ‘the best final ever’.

Argentina won 4-2 on penalties, following the match ending 3-3 after extra time.

The South American team have now won the prestigious tournament three times, the last in 1986.
