Katie Ledecky wins gold and breaks world record in women's 800m freestyle.
Katie Ledecky is still golden. She set a World and Olympic record en route to her fourth gold medal with a win in the 800-meter freestyle, swimming 8:04.79 to break her own world record by nearly two seconds. She won the title by over 11 seconds. It was another clinic in the water as Ledecky raced the yellow world record from the opening gun, jumping out on it from the opening lap and inching further and further in front of it as the race went on. At times, she was more than a body length ahead of world record pace. She went on to win, adding another gold to match the medals she won in the 200- and 400-meter freestyle.
