The much anticipated 13th edition of the Indian Premier League is most likely to be cancelled due to the widespread coronavirus pandemic. A source in the IPL administration told the Times of India that since one can't have social distancing in the stadium, IPL will not happen this year. It will now happen next year. The source added that the mega auction which was scheduled for 2021 will also not happen now. Reportedly, BCCI is waiting for an announcement from the Indian government and sports ministry on visas of foreign players before it makes the news official. The board is likely to officially tell the franchises soon after the 21-day country wide lockdown ends.
