Understanding Vanishing Points - Step by Step One Point Perspective Tutorial for Beginners |
|
Learn something new with Mr. New! This video about vanishing points and one point perspective is a step by step tutorial. Grab a piece of paper, a pencil, and a ruler, and follow along! In this tutorial, you'll learn one of the simplest methods for creating a 3D perspective in your artwork: vanishing points. The trick to understanding one (or multi) point perspective is to know that any lines moving away from you in a real space will converge at the vanishing point.
We'll begin with a horizon line with one vanishing point to use as a reference for creating the illusion of depth. We'll practice the one point perspective method by drawing a street with a few buildings on either side. Perspective, in art, refers to the use of visual elements in a way that puts the viewer into the piece of art by creating a realistic 3D scene. One Point Perspective is a method of drawing that originated in the 14th century, and was perfected by Renaissance artist Filippo Brunelleschi. It is used today by artists of all types, from cartoonists to photorealists. Warning: there will be some very simple math words in this video. If you have a phobia of mathematics, take a deep breath and push through. I promise that it's not too scary, and I'll hold your hand the whole way if you need me to. ******************** VIDEO LINKS ******************** Weekly Art Lessons: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLuIKiyIzTkW6Uoh3IQwxfEVCOn5mICya8 Weekly Zentangles: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLuIKiyIzTkW6qbLP4U3CBVoqVRS7H45HF ******************** The materials used are: Drawing Paper - http://amzn.to/2px0P4K Pencil - http://amzn.to/2pwLlNO Eraser - http://amzn.to/2pc5v0t Or just use a regular #2 pencil - http://amzn.to/2oamQVL Grid Ruler - http://amzn.to/2p0cc90 * All links above are affiliate links, and purchasing from these links directly supports this channel.
