Another Republican Governor Sends Law Enforcement To Southern Border For Political Points

video thumbnail
Ohio's Republican governor Mike DeWine has become the latest Republican governor to send law enforcement officials from their state to the southern border, allegedly at the request of Texas governor Greg Abbott. This is all a political stunt to make the public think that the border is actually experiencing a "crisis," but news reports from border towns tell a completely different story. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Republican Ohio governor Mike DeWine has now become the third Republican governor along with south Dakota's Kristi Noem. And Florida's Ron DeSantis to decide to send some of their own law enforcement from their state Down to Texas to Help, uh, monitor the Southern border. Mike DeWine announced earlier this week that he was going to send 14 law enforcement officers from the state of Ohio, send in 14 of them down to that Southern border to help handle that border crisis that we're hearing so much about from conservatives, but Not from anywhere else.

And, uh, of course Ron DeSantis has sent, uh, some of our police officers over there. Kristi Noem, as I mentioned last week, was sending a national guard from South Dakota down there they're all each and every one of these Republicans are doing, doing this as a political stunt Because folks, there is no crisis at the Southern border. I spent a good amount Of time yesterday researching this particular matter just to make sure I'm not saying something that's completely sideways here, trying to find any information at all, to indicate that what's happening down there in the Southern border. Texas is a crisis. Are we an influx of people trying to cross the border? Are there more people than the law enforcement agencies that are specifically created to deal with that? Is it more than they can handle the answer is yes. No,

You can not find any data. I support Any of the claims being made by Greg Abbott over in Texas, Kristi Noem in South Dakota, uh, [inaudible] Florida. And now the one in Ohio, there's No data that Backs up anything they say, but what we do have our interviews, You know, you have had media Outlets that have traveled to the border towns and interviewed residents where the residents are telling them there's No crisis. We don't know what these people are talking about. We're not

Seeing anything different from what usually happens down here. It's not better. It's not worse. It's the same as it always has, except one thing's happening right now. All these people out there telling people there's a crisis Has killed our tourism industry. So These towns are in fact suffering. There is a little bit of a crisis going on there right now, but it's an economic crisis created by these Republicans who need a good political talking point. And this is what they've come up with. Greg Abbott down there in Texas. Republican governor is sinking his own state economically to gain points politically with the rest of the country. In all these other Republican idiots out there DeSantis, Nome to whine. They're sending their people down there as part of the political theater to gain political points for themselves for their future presidential runs. That's what's happening. That's why you're hearing these talking points, but that's also why you cannot find any empirical data that shows there's actually a crisis on our Southern border.
