Bucket elevators are widely used in food & agriculture industries to vertically lift materials, such as wheat, maize, paddy, rice, etc. which uses a series of buckets, uniformly fixed to an endless belt for continuously lifting the bulk materials.
The elevator is designed to vertically move the crops such as wheat, maize, paddy ,rice etc. in seed and grain processing plants. The process does not damage material.

A centrifugal bucket elevator employs centrifugal force to throw material out of the buckets as they travel over the head pulley or sprocket. This type of bucket elevator operates at a higher speed and spaces buckets further apart. The result of the high speed and bucket spacing is optimized material fill and reduced interference between buckets. These buckets frequently dig through the material for loading. AA style buckets are widely spaced on the belt and operate at speeds up to1 to 3 m/s for handling the heaviest category industrial materials up to 1500kg/cu.mt. The separation distance between the buckets is 2 to 3 times then the height of the bucket.
