▼ Why I don't recommend applying 23 colleges:

Two main reasons: money and time.

Applying to 23 colleges costs a lot more than I thought, especially when I'm an international applicant. I can't explain how relieved I was when Carleton application fee was $0, until I realized that SAT, ACT, and TOEFL score sends cost as much.

I recycled a lot of essays so that I can submit them on time. This resulted in some of the essays being too vague in my opinion. I did research about each college, but I could have gone deeper. Most evidently, when I got [SPOILER ALERT] waitlisted at Vanderbilt. It makes sense because on second thought I don't very well resonate with Vanderbilt.
