In my previous video concerning the new HSK, I carefully analyzed what would be changing based on the information available, as well as drawing on my years of Chinese teaching and HSK test tutoring experience. Many people gave their feedback that it was the most comprehensive video covering this topic that they had seen. Of course, as limited official information was then available there remained several open questions. While I addressed these as best I could, I also made a commitment to find out further official information.

In search of those answers I have been consulting with HSK experts, hoping to get the most authoritative explanations directly from them. Finally, on April 20th, I took part in the top academic conference concerning the new HSK, and directly heard the full official explanation of the new HSK test. So I decided to make this video to share the discussion that took place in that conference, and clarify those open questions raised after my last video. Very few people participated in the conference, so the outcome is not yet widely available. I believe the new insights will be very helpful for all HSK students' preparations.

As I was personally able to engage with the experts, I believe I genuinely have the best understanding to share with you, and in this video I will be addressing very specifically the most commonly raised questions/concerns which remained open after my last video.

My colleagues and I have started to prepare our students for the new HSK test. Our courses will enable students to hone their practical Chinese communication skills, which is a focus in the new HSK tests.
