If you want to use Instagram Automations you must be sure you do the following 6 things:

1. Make sure you have an Instagram BUSINESS account.
2. Connect the Instagram account to a Facebook business page
3. Be an admin on the business page
4. Make sure the chat platform you are using is set to the primary receiver in your Facebook page settings then select Advanced Messages next to Instagram
5. Ensure that Instagram Direct is enabled in your inbox on Facebook
6. Make sure that the connect apps can receive messages (this video shows you that setting)

Here is a timeline for Instagram Automations release dates:

June 2, 2021 - All accounts with 10k-100k followers

July 1, 2021 - All accounts with 1k-100k followers

August 1 - all accounts

These dates are tentative from Facebook so they can change.
