The President conferred the Padma Awards to 56 of the 112 personalities, chosen for this year’s honor, at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. Actor-filmmaker Prabhu Deva was one of the Indian film industry members to receive the honor from President Ram Nath Kovind. Apart from Prabhu Deva, singer and music director Shankar Mahadevan and veteran actor Kader Khan (posthumous) received a Padma Shri award, while Malayalam actor Mohanlal was bestowed with the Padma Bhushan.
