Cloud Computing with Linode and Kasm - Kali Linux Streaming |
|
I saw a YouTube tutorial by Network Chuck in which him and his brother described how to set up kasm on a Linode cloud computing instance. I have a suspicion that cloud computing could be the future. We’ll be able to run fairly dumb terminals at home and guess the real work done on a boost of a computer running in a server room somewhere across the other end of the country or continent.
The idea of using Kasm is that you can stream into a browser an operating system. In this case I used Kali LINUX and ran it inside Safari. It wasn’t perfect because I don’t have a fast Internet connection. I had a trouble with getting the keystrokes to go where I want them into the Cali Linux Applications. As a proof of concept I was delighted to make it work. I had an operating system running inside Safari browser I didn’t side that operating system also run another browser. I suspect it could even have been possible to have another instance of cloud computing running inside of the browser inside Cali Linux. I imagine it would be possible to run Windows inside the system as well. If you were desperate to run a Windows application. The @NetworkChuck video tutorial I followed.... https://youtu.be/U7e-mcJdZok ## Please subscribe to make sure you hear about all the Good and Geeky / Wizardgold videos.
