Kenyan President Daniel arap Moi has ordered the release of 5,842 prisoners serving jail sentences of six months or less in an amnesty marking the 18th anniversary of his accession to power after the death of founding president Jomo Kenyatta in 1978.
During Moi Day celebrations on Thursday (10/10), the president ruled out
comprehensive constitutional reform before general elections due by the end of next year.
