A series of his papers are available here: https://bit.ly/CBleakleyPaperOutput Dr. Chris Bleakley earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Ulster University, Northern Ireland in 2000, before completing his PhD in 2004 (also at Ulster University). Dr. Bleakley joined High Point University in August 2017. Prior to teaching on the DPT program, Dr. Bleakley worked as a clinician at the Sports Institute of Northern Ireland and in Private Practice, he then completed a Cochrane Fellowship, before taking up a Research Fellow position at Ulster University in 2008. In 2012 he was the founding Chair of the Masters in Sport and Exercise Medicine at Ulster University. Dr. Bleakley has been involved in undergraduate and graduate teaching in Higher Education since 2004. He has had roles as external teaching Faculty at both Cardiff University and the Royal College of Surgeons (England) and is currently a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK. Dr. Bleakley is responsible for delivering the course content of Evidence Practice Classes (PT 7280 EBP I, PT 7680 EBP II, and PT 8080 EBP III) and Interventions I (PT 7170). Dr. Bleakley continues to undertake clinical based research and has produced over 100 peer-reviewed scholarly outputs. His main areas of interest include: acute soft tissue injury management, chronic ankle instability and sports epidemiology. Dr. Bleakley has chaired multiple Undergraduate and Masters theses and has supervised 2 PhD students to successful completion. He returned to Belfast to be a Senior Lecturer at Ulster University. Dr. Bleakley is an invited committee member of the International Ankle Consortium (since 2012). He has been external examiner on 8 PhD thesis and currently sits on the board of external examiners for two Masters programs in the United Kingdom. Dr. Bleakley continues to serve as a peer reviewer for over 20 scientific journals, he is also an international advisor for Physical Therapy in Sport UK and Associate Editor at BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders.
