Un poco de contexto: Tomé un viaje de vacaciones con mi familia al sur de mi país, y durante una de nuestras cenas en el restaurant del hotel, uno de esos covers bossa nova "for export" que eran parte de la musicalización del lugar llamó mi atención. (El punto de la existencia de estos covers es que son buena música de ambiente para restaurantes, bares y demás). Aunque no soy un fan declarado de Coldplay como lo es mi hermano, sí me gusta lo que hace la banda, y al escuchar el cover de esta canción, Fix You, quizás uno de mis temas favoritos del grupo actualmente por su musicalidad y su emotiva letra, sentí que me la arruinaron. Algunas canciones responden mejor a un cambio drástico de estilo que otras, y esta claramente no era la más beneficiada. Con ese mal sabor de boca, me prometí que buscaría el cover, extraería su voz y haría un mashup de la voz de la cantante (sí, hice mi investigación y obtuve el nombre de la misma: Nara Veloso, que por cierto no tiene relación con Caetano Veloso) junto al instrumental de la versión original (ambas extraídas via inteligencia artificial en el sitio x-minus.pro), cambiando la tonalidad a la del cover de Bossa Bros. Aunque sin embargo, me encontré con el problema de que en el cover, la señorita Veloso no interpreta completa la segunda parte de la canción, donde crece la intensidad y aparece la guitarra y la batería, así que para esa parte tuve que usar las voces de otro cover: el de First To Eleven. Las voces de dicho cover, al ser pitcheadas 2 semitonos, no suenan tan bien como deberían. De hecho, la calidad de la voz extraída de Nara Veloso tampoco es óptima, pero no impide disfrutar del mashup. ¡Ojalá les guste!
Las voces aisladas fueron sincronizadas a mano con Sony Vegas.

Este mashup va dedicado a dos personas muy especiales: mi amiga Martu y mi hermano, quien cumple años el día de hoy.

A little context: I went to a vacation with my family to my country's south, and during one of our dinners on the hotel's restaurant, one of that bossa nova for export covers that were part of the background music of the place, called my attention. (The whole point of these covers existence is because they're good for restaurants, bars, etc. to use them as background music). Besides not being a die-hard Coldplay fan like my brother is, I do like the music of the band, so when I listened to the cover of this song, Fix You, maybe one of my favorite Coldplay tracks currently given its great composition and emotive lyrics, I felt they ruined it for me. Some songs flows better to a drastic style/genre change than others, and this was clearly not the most benefited one. With this bitter taste of mouth, I promised myself to search the cover, isolate its voice and do a mashup with the singer's voice (yep, I did my homework and the singer's name is Nara Veloso, not related with Caetano Veloso by the way) along with the original's instrumental track (both isolated online via IA in x-minus.pro), changing the pitch to the Bossa Bros.'s cover one. However I found a problem: in the cover, Miss Veloso doesn't sing complete the second part of the song, the one in which intensity grows and the guitar and drums appears, so for that middle part I had to use another cover's voices: the First to Eleven one. Being pitched -2 semitones, the cover's voices don't sound as good as they should. In fact, the quality of the isolated Nara Veloso's voice isn't the best either, but it doesn't prevent you to enjoy this mashup.
