Mercedes AMG GTR190 V8 Jeremy Clarkson test drive in Top Gear

Go ahead that having a Mercedes-AMG GT in the garage is not exactly discrete. Even less if it is the variant 'R', the most radical of all. But, in a way, Mercedes always brings a touch of typically German sobriety to her creations, whatever they may be. Well, it has totally jumped the air with the latest preparation presented by Renntech, which is based on the current sports bastion of the star's brand.
Renntech has named his new job R3-Performance. This is how you know the pack of modifications that we are going to talk about now. Obviously, the most striking is the kit of aesthetic accessories that receives the Mercedes-AMG GT R. In this one stands out especially the orange paint chosen for the body, which will make you visible several blocks away. This tonality has its contrast with the black of the tires that are incorporated, through which poke a brake calipers on both trains to match the body. Presumably, in the interior changes have also been made following a similar aesthetic configuration, but at the moment we do not have images that demonstrate it.
The transformation provided by the R3-Performance kit also affects the mechanical plane. Remember that as standard the Mercedes-AMG GT R is offered with a V8 of 4 liters vitaminado by two turbos, which triggers the total power of the vehicle to some already impressive 585 HP. This figure must have seemed little to the children of Renntech, which thanks to the installation of a new electronic control unit, a new more sporty air filter and a larger turbocharger and resistance have raised to 761 HP. The maximum torque also increases, this time to 857 Nm. Where there are no modifications is in the gearbox that is associated with this engine, with what we will enjoy once again the good work of the automatic transmission 7G-DTC that we already know.

2019 Mercedes-AMG GT Four-Door Spied with Big Wing, Gets Closer to Production.
When Mercedes-Benz recently introduced the third generation of the CLS, many questions about the reasons behind the various limitations of the otherwise shining newcomer. And while the polarizing rear end of the 2018 CLS is obviously a subjective matter, there is a clear reason behind the (expected) lack of V8 firepower. We're referring to the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT Four-Door. Despite its nameplate, which, by the way, is provisional, the Affalterbach-engineered four-door coupe has more in common with the CLS than it has with the GT supercar, at least as far as the platform sitting underneath the camouflaged skin is concerned .

Of course, the CLS and the GT Four-Door will feel like totally different animals, with Mercedes-AMG engineers currently completing the final stages of testing in order to assure this conclusion stands. And you can check out the prototype of the upcoming beast in the piece of footage below, which shows the machine testing with a generous rear spoiler. Oh, and let's not forget that Panamericana front grille lurking under the camo.

Truth be told, the probably-active aero element we're talking about is a neccesity, since we're talking about a vehicle packing impressive firepower.

For one thing, the concept prefigurating the lavish sprinter mixed to twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. The result is an all-wheel drive (think: torque vectoring) velocity behemoth making use of 816 hp.

Those willing to skip the gas-electric setup will be able to opt for at least one internal combustion-only version, which should offer around 600 hp. The rumor mill also talks about a ... civilian incarnation of the car that could arrive later on, which should be animated by an inline-six powertrain featuring mild-hybrid tech.

The German automotive producer will introduce the production version of the Mercedes-AMG GT Four-Door next year, with March's Geneva Motor Show being one of the likely venues for the public debut of the family-friendly beast
The two got together during a drag racing event held on an airfield, so the drivers only needed to worry about the throttle to the floor.

We're looking at a compact wagon that packs half the engine of the supercar it battles. Displacement and cylinder count aside, the all-wheel-drive compact wagon packs 381 hp, while the rear-paw supercar wields 510 ponies.

The variety showcased with the help of this straight-line battle is an example of just how majestic Affalterbach has become these days. And we'll list other three examples, starting with the least fierce one.

We're talking about the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S. You see, while the mid-cycle revamp for the previous E63 showed that it could one-up the Porsche Panamera Turbo S in a straight line, the W213 incarnation of the Benz has managed to leave the 2018 Panamera Turbo behind in a track battle. And we're not expecting the considerably chunkier Panamera Turbo
