The Election Commission had recently heard both Akhilesh and Mulayam Singh's opinion and reserved its verdict over the matter of poll symbol. Sources said that the EC is likely to freeze the cycle symbol and allot new symbols to both the groups. They could be looking at an array of free symbols such as “mortar and pestle”, “wool and needles”, or “dumbbells”, which are up for grabs, to make their pick.
