AOC Scorches Republicans For Pandering To Their White Nationalist Base

video thumbnail
Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez torched Republicans and their leader Kevin McCarthy this week, saying that McCarthy won't condemn his members for speaking at a white nationalist rally because that's the new base of the Republican Party. She isn't wrong. And while it is true that not all Republicans share these views, it is also true that nearly all the people who share those views identify with Republicans. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

Democratic representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez torched Republican minority leader Kevin McCarthy this week, after McCarthy was caught on video on Tuesday, refusing to answer reporters questions about two representatives, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar, appearing at the white nationalist conference over this past weekend. McCarthy would not answer the question. He said, you gotta look at my earlier statement where he kind of vaguely said, I guess I don't like it. And then AOC had it perfect. She got on social media and basically said that, of course Kevin McCarthy cannot denounce these white nationalists because quote, he doesn't want to alienate his base. Of course, what that means is that the white nationalists are in fact, the base of the Republican party and I don't think that's an inaccurate statement right now. I'm not saying that all Republicans are racists. I am saying that most of the racists identify with the Republican party.

It's kinda like all thumbs are fingers, but not all fingers are thumbs. That's kind of the situation we're dealing with now with the Republican party. There's no question that not all of them are white nationalists, but if you look at the party affiliations and voting histories of white nationalists, you're gonna find that most of them are in fact Republicans. It has become your base. Studies have proven that recently and I did a segment on this about a week or so ago, there were 13 individual studies that were published in the recent issue of the journal nature human behavior that said the same thing. That, yes, not all Republicans are racist, but all racists tend to be Trump supporters. In fact, they can look at how prejudice somebody is in these studies and use that as an accurate determination as to whether or not they supported Donald Trump in 2020 and 2016.

Like, this is literally down to a science, linking racist white nationalist people to the Republican party. This is not speculation. This is not hyperbole. This is literally science, at this point. We can look at how racist you are and wherever you fall on that scale, determines how likely you are to be a Republican Trump supporter. So again, AOC is not wrong. The Republicans do in fact have a white nationalist problem. The problem is that don't see it as a problem. They see it as a base that as Marjorie Taylor Greene herself said, we need to talk to these people. We need to bring 'em into the Republican party. Oh, they, they feel ostracized. They feel left out. Good. If you're a white nationalist, you should be ostracized. You should be left out of the conversations. Nobody should want to sit you down at the table and be like, hey, I know you're horrible, but I still want your vote. No. You shouldn't do that. But the Republican party is because if they were to cut off those people, it'd be pretty hard for them to win elections in the future. That is how much they depend on that white nationalist vote.
