Foot and Ankle Surgery Recovery: 4 Weeks Post-Surgery Concerns

video thumbnail
Another wonderful patient of ours, Kelly, allowed us to share her experience.

It is not uncommon to have more than one procedure performed, but having both foot and ankle surgery together proves to be the most challenging. Like most surgeries, they are injuries that take the 3 to 6 week span to heal. The problem with surgery on the lower extremity is staying non weight bearing long enough for the structures to handle the weight and "torque" that happens inherently when we walk. No patient or procedure are the same and we discussed everything at her 4 week visit from scar tissue formation to how different stages of pain will dictate shoe usage.
