Why would you buy a Ford Ranger Raptor? That might be the question you ask yourself after you drive the Ford Ranger FX4 Max.

The 2021 Ford Ranger FX4 Max borrows plenty of good bits for the range-topping Raptor model, including the Fox Shocks and those excellent BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres. But there's a lot more to this special edition model than just that.

This is a TradieGuide review by Matt Campbell, where he tests out the towing capability of the FX4 Max. It offers the maximum 3.5-tonne towing capacity, plus an almost one-tonne payload. Those are better than what you get with a Raptor. And this spec of Ranger is also almost $12,000 cheaper than the top-of-the-range variant.
