At the Institution of Engineers' annual dinner, Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat said Singapore needs more engineers in order to come up with solutions for increasingly complex challenges, such as climate change and sustainability. During the event, a programme to develop engineers into entrepreneurs was launched. It hopes to attract more talent with this new career path. Over the next two years, it will mentor 20 companies producing disruptive technologies.
