Eight Republican candidates prepare to face off in the first GOP presidential debate for the 2024 election Wednesday in Milwaukee. The candidates who have qualified for the Republican National Committee debate are North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, former Vice President Mike Pence, Vivek Ramaswamy and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott. Terry Holt says DeSantis will be the candidate to observe in the debate because he's in second place to former President Trump in most polls.
