SpaceX successfully flew its Starship prototype "Starhopper" (a.k.a. Starship Hopper, Hoppy, R2D2, Water Tower, Flying Trash Can) 150 meters high, hovering laterally approximately 100 meters and propulsively landing on a separate pad.

This Starhopper test was originally planned to reach 200 meters, but this FAA permit dated Aug 23 limited the test to an altitude of 150 meters. https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/ast/licenses_permits/media/150%20m%20hop%20Permit%20%20Order%20Mod_08_23_2019.pdf

The day before this test, SpaceX's first attempt at a 150-meter test flight was automatically aborted milliseconds after T-0 due to an issue with the Raptor engine's torch igniter system.

Starhopper is approximately 30 feet in diameter and 80 feet tall, powered by a single Raptor engine.
SpaceX's Raptor engine is a revolutionary full-flow staged combustion rocket engine powered by cryogenic liquid methane and liquid oxygen. Raptor produces up to 2,000 kilonewtons / 440,000 foot-pounds / 200 metric ton-force of thrust. It has a specific impulse of 330 s at sea level, and 380 s in a vacuum.
