A unique attempt was made to increase the voter turnout in Bhopal. The administration organised a lucky draw at the polling booths on May 07. Voting for 9 out of 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh was held in the third phase of elections.

"Keeping in mind the low voter turnout in the last two phases, this is an initiative from the Bhopal administration to encourage voters to come out and cast their votes. We are conducting a lucky draw and three voters at each booth get gifts. At booth number 211, a voter won a diamond ring,” said Assistant Nodal Officer, Ritesh Sharma. Notably, Madhya Pradesh recorded 67.75 per cent and 58.59 per cent voter turnout in Phase 1 and Phase 2 respectively.
