Jamie Dunlea "Incorporating the CEFR into language test development"

The plenary talk given by Jamie Dunlea, Researcher, English Language Assessment Research Centre, British Council, at the E-merging Forum 4, Moscow, March 13-15, 2014. This talk looks at how the CEFR has been used in assessment generally, including the criticisms and questions that have arisen and at some concrete examples of how the CEFR can be used as a springboard for task and rating scale development.

March 13 -15, 2014 the British Council in Russia organised the E-merging Forum 4 that aimed to get together teachers of English to discuss and share challenges and best practice in the following content areas: Learning Technologies, Teaching English to Young Learners, ESP and EAP, Assessment, Literature and Culture. "E-merging Forum-4" was attended by more than 1200 attendees from all over Russia and Europe. During the E-merging Forum 4 there were plenary talks and discussions, practical workshops, discussion groups, open slots, online coverage and much more. The British Council invited such honoured speakers as Alan Pulverness, Catherine Kneafsey, Jamie Dunlea, Nicky Hockly, Tony Prince.
