Klimatotohanan Ep 5 | Filipinas at the Forefront of Climate Action |
|
Don't miss out on the fifth episode of #Klimatotohanan entitled “Ladies First: Filipinas at the Forefront of Climate Action.”
In celebration of National Women’s Month, this episode pays tribute to the many contributions of women in climate action as decision-makers, stakeholders, educators, carers, and experts across sectors and at all levels. We were joined by Ms. Maria Kristine Josefina G. Balmes, Deputy Executive Director for Operations and Project Manager of the Supporting Women’s Economic Empowerment in the Philippines Project of the Philippine Commission on Women; Ms. Danica Marie Supnet, a fellow of the Asian consortium Women and Earth Initiative, a Climate Reality Leader, and a Senior Analyst at the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities; Engr. Elainne Lopez, Transitions Analyst at the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities, and Ms. Beatrix Eloise Tanglao, a Climate Reality Leader and a core member of the Youth Cluster of The Climate Reality Project Philippines. They talked about why global disruptions like the COVID-19 pandemic and the prevailing climate crisis are not gender-neutral, how women are leading the fight against climate change, what global and national frameworks promote and support gender-lensed climate action, and how we can further mainstream gender in our national and local plans. #LeadOnClimate #ClimateRealityPH Follow us on our other social media accounts!
