We live in a globalised world, and we are the generation that will have to deal with its challenges. The only way to do so is to change our perspectives about ourselves, about equality and to build a generation of truly global citizens who can understand and adhere to the fact that global problems require global solutions, and sharing the costs and burdens is necessary for sharing the benefits.
Adela is a third year PPE student from Romania passionate about international politics and the role of education in the functioning of democratic societies. She has coordinated summer schools on education and equality in Romanian villages, and has chaired youth political conferences across Europe from Finland to Ukraine. Adela has also interned for the GlobalFocus Centre Romania think-tank to research Romania’s democratisation process for a UNDP project. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx |
