Nomadland was the big winner at the 93rd Academy Awards in Los Angeles taking best film, best director for Chloe Zhao and best actress for Frances McDormand - her third win in that category. Zhao is the first woman of colour to win best director and only the second woman ever to win.

British stars Anthony Hopkins, Daniel Kaluuya, and Emerald Fennell were among the Oscar winners as Hollywood celebrated the film industry's biggest night.

Hopkins was named Best Actor for The Father ahead of the late Chadwick Boseman.
