Space technologies are playing a pivotal role in the transition towards digital and green economies. At industry level, the space sector is providing tremendous opportunities to drive innovation and create new market opportunities. Satellite signals and data are increasingly accessed and used across a wide range of industry sectors, from energy to health, food and tourism. The growth of the global space industry sector is expected to have a spillover effect into other areas, creating jobs, driving innovation and revitalising the post-COVID economy. This will inevitably translate into new skills and capabilities for the future workforce.
