video thumbnail
Swiss company, Nestle has invented a unique way to make chocolate without adding sugar. As more and more consumers are looking for healthier options, the company has come up with a way to use leftover material from cocoa plants for sweetening. The process is believed to reduce the amount of sugar in chocolate by up to 40%. The company has patented the technology to turn the white pulp that covers cocoa beans into a powder that naturally contains sugar. Nestle will start selling KitKat bars with 70% dark chocolate under the new recipe, which doesn’t include any added sugar, this fall in Japan.
