Donald Williams II is a professional fighter with some background in security. Williams was at the scene when George Floyd was in Minneapolis police custody, and is heard in bystander video telling officers to check Floyd's pulse while Derek Chauvin's knee was on Floyd's neck.

Because of his experience with mixed martial arts, Williams told the prosecutor that he could observe what Chauvin was doing. The position of the knee on the neck, the movements of the knee, and the position of Floyd all gave him information, Williams said.
