Water Quality |
![]() |
Measuring water quality helps us to monitor the health of our local stream ecosystems. Here in Fairfax County, VA. Freshwater Ecologist do this by:
1. Using a YSI meter to measure water quality parameters such as temperature, pH, and levels of dissolved oxygen and conductivity. 2. Collecting water samples for further analysis. 3. Catching and identifying fish and benthic macroinvertebrates whose varying tolerance levels can indicate overall water quality.
