Donald Trump closed in on security the Republican nomination for president on Super Tuesday after getting easy wins against Nikki Haley. NY Post Politics Reporter Victor Nava shares this story.

Americans in 16 states (and one US territory) cast their presidential nominating votes this Super Tuesday, with the only real source of suspense was whether former President Trump would sweep all 15 Republican contests from his last remaining rival, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

While Haley avoided that sweep with a narrow victory in Vermont, Trump went on to rout Haley in the other races.

President Biden won the Democratic contests in 15 states — with a surprise loss to a no-name in American Samoa — with Trump victorious for the GOP in 14 states.

The Super Tuesday races will award 874 Republican delegates, just over one-third of the total needed to win the nomination: 1,215.
