Urban Library Leaders Series #3: Featuring Nadia Ghasedi |
![]() |
Please join Jeffrey Trzeciak, the Director of the Jersey City Free Public Library and President of the NJLA Urban Libraries Section, for the third conversation in the discussion series, Urban Library Leaders, which highlights innovators across the country demonstrating the capabilities of urban libraries.
Next up in our series is Eyes on the Prize: From Preservation to Dissemination, a conversation with Nadia Ghasedi. Regarded as the definitive documentary series on the Civil Rights Movement, Eyes on the Prize has been seen by millions since its debut on PBS in 1987. However, what has remained unseen, until now, are the approximately 75 hours of interview outtakes that provide further insight into the series’ original stories of struggle, resistance, and perseverance. Focusing on the interviews from Eyes on the Prize, which reside in the Washington University Libraries’ Henry Hampton Collection, Ghasedi will highlight the Libraries’ efforts to preserve and make accessible obsolete, film-based primary resources that document the social movements that have shaped our national identity and have influenced the continual fight for civil rights. |
