Agneepath Scheme Protests: Some organisations call for Bharat Bandh on June 20th, demanding Agnipath rollback. Chandigarh and Kerala heighten security. Police warn that strict action to be taken against those damaging public property.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Sunday banned 35 WhatsApp groups for spreading fake news about Agnipath Scheme. According to the reports, the Government has also urged the citizens to report any such group on PIB fact check team number.

Violent protests in Bihar and several other states over the Centre's Agnipath army recruitment scheme left vehicles vandalised and trains burnt. However, the government addressed the concerns of the defence job seekers and clarified that the future of the recruits is stable and that the intake would go up in the future.
