Using Linux on Windows with WSL 2 🐧 – Debian and Arch Linux

video thumbnail
This video is an introduction into using Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) to install and use a Linux distro on Windows. I will go through the prerequisites for using WSL and then install the Debian and Arch Linux distros. I'll demonstrate how to integrate the WSL distro with the Windows Terminal and File Explorer. I'll also talk about the slow file system access trough the network drive because of the 9P protocol usage. The best way to avoid this drawback while developing is to use Visual Studio Code as your code editor, because it integrates with WSL and uses a server on the WSL Linux instrance which connects to your Windows code editor and allows quick access to the Linux file system.
