La Gatta (The Cat) -Gino Paoli cover |
|
Tributo a Gino Paoli. La Gatta ('The Cat'), one of the most popular Italian song of the sixties, written by Gino Paoli (legendary singer/songwriter).
Translation: Once upon a time there was a cat, who had a dark spot on his mouth/nose, and there was an old attic near the sea, with a window a few steps away from the blue sky. If I played the guitar, the cat would purr and a little star would come down very close and smile at me and went back up (into the sky). Now, I don't live there anymore. Everything changed, I don't live there anymore. Now I have a beautiful house, beautiful, the way you want it. But, I still think about the cat with a spot on his nose and the old attic near the sea, with a star that I don't see anymore.... |
