Dr. Madeline Weld | Green Growth: The Mantra of Our Cognitive Dissonance. |
![]() |
The Canadian government lays out plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and implement green energy policies, while at the same time massively increasing immigration levels in order to drive rapid population growth. This population growth has significant negative impacts on the environment but has not provided any benefits to working Canadians. On the contrary: among other things, it has put home ownership out of reach for many of them. One might reasonably ask whether the government’s priority in setting its policies is not the well-being of its citizens but rather to serve a globalist agenda.
Dr. Madeline Weld is president of Population Institute Canada, which seeks to inform the Canadian public and policymakers about population matters. PIC advocates for the stabilization of Canada’s population and for making support for international family planning assistance a significant, integral part of foreign aid. PIC’s honorary patrons include Sir David Attenborough, Dr. Jane Goodall, Drs. Paul and Anne Ehrlich, Dr. David Suzuki, Robert Bateman, and Dr. William Rees. Madeline has written numerous articles on the population issue, including The ‘Silent Lie’ in the Coverage of Madagascar’s Famine, The Myth of Canada’s Underpopulation: Lay It to Rest, and Deconstructing the Dangerous Dogma of Denial.
