Correction: A story at 22:53 contained errors in reporting about a photo featuring Hamid Estili and Mahmoud Khazein. Our story reported Khazein was wanted by the FBI at the time the photo was taken. In fact, he was indicted in July, 2021 and the photo appears to be from 2018. CBC News does not know the extent of any relationship between the two men. Note: A previous version of this broadcast contained a disturbing image in a story about school shootings and was replaced. 00:00 The National for May 24, 2022 00:52 Texas elementary school shooting 04:29 Frustration over inaction on U.S. gun violence 06:39 PM Trudeau responds to Texas school shooting 07:08 Ontario storm may have been stronger than thought 07:40 Ottawa deals with the aftermath of deadly storm 10:35 Making Canada's power infrastructure more resilient 12:50 Stuck on Wonderland roller coaster during storm 13:37 Impact of drop in cancer screening during pandemic 16:06 Quebec adopts Bill 96 French-language reforms 16:33 Jacob Hoggard testifies in sex assault trial 18:44 Canadian to send $100M in military aid to Ukraine 19:15 Ukraine war deepens global food crisis 22:21 Man arrested in plot to kill George W.
