The importance of Māori telling their own stories has been celebrated with the Ngā Kupu Ora Awards last evening. For the first time in the awards' eighth year history journalism was added as a category including a special award to honour the memory of veteran Māori broadcaster Whai Ngata, that went to long time TVNZ reporter and current producer of Marae, Tini Molyneux.
