video thumbnail
This is the second of four symposia sponsored by the Benicia Community Sustainability Commission in partnership with Dominican University of California. Energy consumption and production is the largest contributor to Benicia's CO2. In 2005 over 4.25 million metric Tonnes of CO2 were produced by Benicia. Besides generating Greenhouse Gas emissions, energy use is costly. Finding ways of becoming more efficient along with alternative sources of renewable energy will save our community money as well. This second symposium addresses Tidal, Wind and Solar energy. Delaine Eastin, Former California Superintendent of Public Instruction is the moderator, John Bonds, Ocean Renewable Power Company, addresses tidal energy; Matthew Wilson CEO, Foundation Windpower addresses wind energy and David Hernandez, Chevron Energy Solutions, addresses solar energy.
