Panel 1: The European Union Raw Materials Initiative: The Raw Materials Problem

This panel aims to set the scene of the policy drivers for the European Commission's Raw Materials Initiative (RMI). It will focus on resources upon the EU transition to a low carbon economy beyond 2020 and introduce the international dimension of the raw materials problem discussing the implications, opportunities and challenges of the EU policy on access and supply of raw materials from third countries.
